Who We Are
About Generation Care

Mission Statement: Generation Care exists to promote and maximize functional freedoms, independence, and healthy lifestyles, across the lifespan.

Generation Care, PLC, was founded in 1999 as a privately owned rehabilitation company founded on principles of customer service excellence, evidence-based practice, and intensive one on one care. While clients across the lifespan are served in a variety of specialty areas, Generation Care was created initially to focus on the unique aspects of the geriatric and medically frail individual. Years later, Generation Care serves a wide variety of clients, ranging from the special needs newborn, to the teenage athlete, adult orthopedic, neurological issues, and still maintains excellence with the geriatric client.

In 2001, Generation Care opened a state of the art facility with an expansive aquatic center in Muskegon. Post-surgical, post-injury, and chronic conditions have been managed with excellent clinical outcomes through an outstanding staff of therapists and specialists. In 2005, a two story addition was completed to better accommodate our growing neurological population, and orthopedic upper extremity conditions such as complex conditions of the hand. 2008 brought about additional changes, with an expansive pediatric center located on the lower level for privacy and interactive space for care.

Generation Care has provided all the rehabilitation needs of the Newaygo Medical Care Facility since our company began in 1999, enjoying a long-lasting relationship at this one of a kind, long term care facility. Our team blends perfectly with the exceptional nursing staff, and we have truly become a part of this wonderful community in many ways. The Stone Lodge, built in 2008 on NMCF’s premises, has offered us the opportunity to serve the outpatient needs in this area as well.

As our client base in Muskegon began to reach further south, a second clinic location was carefully considered and planned for with the purchase of property on US31 and Lincoln St in Grand Haven. Expanded facilities were planned for clinical education and wellness services, to better serve our community and other health care professionals in West Michigan. After 2 years of planning and construction, we proudly opened our doors in August 2008. Our Grand Haven facility is state of the art with expansive treatment areas, multi-use gyms, aquatics and pilates. We are so thankful to be a part of this community and bring our philosophy of therapy and amazing therapists to the residents of Grand Haven.

Our goal has always been to fill the holes in community service and work synergistically, not competitively with existing services. On April 25, 2009, Generation Care was proud to join North Ottawa Community Hospital System as a partner in providing care to the Grand Haven community. Although our relationship is new, our philosophies of care are a solid match. At the hospital, we provide all of their in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation. This is a great benefit to the community with being able to work with the same company and many times the same therapists in their process of healing. NOCHS also owns and operates Heartwood Lodge, a resident-centered facility in Spring Lake. Through our partnership, we are providing the rehabilitation services for both their Residents’ and In Home Care.
