Women’s Health / Post Mastectomy Program – Generation Care is grateful to be able to offer therapy and support for your recovery. Surviving breast cancer life-saving surgery is just the beginning of the recovery journey. Following a mastectomy, rehabilitation can hasten restoration of full range and tissue elasticity, trunk and muscle balance, and prevent or manage lymphedema. Learning essential flexibility and core strength will assist in learning new posture, and can prepare for continued reconstruction surgery. Rebuilding body image is an important component of what we do best. Strategies for managing cancer-related fatigue (CRF) , neuropathy from chemotherapy, wound care for chemo ports and complications, and wellness-for life education are all incorporated into the comprehensive approach to post-mastectomy rehabilitation.

NMCF is an Eden – certified skilled nursing facility, consistently surveyed by state and federal inspectors as one of the top ranked facilities in the state. The Rehab team is committed to maximizing independence, and 81% of the admitted residents return to a home or assisted living setting. On its campus, Trillium Springs, a senior living environment, is also served with a state of the art wellness and rehab center. As the older adult’s needs change, seamless transitions between NMCF and trillium springs by the same therapists can be comforting to elders. Our therapy team is involved in every aspect of the NMCF home-like environment, and special events like Fall Risk Screenings, Spring Flings, Tai Chi, and Olympics keep day to day living full of variety and fun.
